Well, given that this years’ DC theme is ‘SAFEGUARD YOUR HEART’ and given how many times the word ‘HEART’ appears in the different talks given is an indicator that maybe the JW rank and file’s HEART is no longer in the witnessing work or any other feature of their worship of the WTBTS.

Is their a slackening off / lack of zeal in the witnessing work that I am observing or is it just the area I`m living in
by smiddy inlast saturday i was home with my wife, having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.
i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.
we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

"8 Ways To Give Us Your Cash" - the desperation in the latest Watchtower is tangible!
by cedars ini know gayle has already started a thread on the latest november 15th watchtower article that mentions the article on donations, but i thought a thread with a more specific title might be in order just to drive the point home for any lurkers.
i hope gayle doesn't mind!.
i've been banging the drum for a while now about what i view as the obvious signs that the watchtower is in a state of decline.. i have written the following blog articles on the subject.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/branch-closures-and-fire-sales-a-growing-trend-for-the-society.

When disaster strikes WT cashes-in and profits from the misfortune of others. Notice the instructions in 2 separate BOE letters for giving when an earthquake struck Haiti in January 12, 2010 and when devastating tornadoes hit the Southeast and Midwest portions of the U.S. in April of 2011:
‘It is recommended that donations for humanitarian and relief assistance be made to the worldwide work. This fund is used for relief efforts as well as for advancing the spiritual needs of the Christian brotherhood. If, for some reason, a person wishes to make a relief donation separate from contributions to the worldwide work, it will still be accepted and used wherever there is a need for relief assistance. However, it would be appreciated if such donations are made without restrictions as to where and how the funds may be used.’
1). made to the worldwide work. Means it goes into a WT money account other than to the relief effort for which you, the donor, intends it.
2). advancing the spiritual needs. In other words if the WTBTS chooses to buy more real estate or make improvements on their own living conditions with the money you purpose to be used for relief efforts……Tough Shit!
3). without restrictions. Do not tell us how to spend the your donations for relief effort. We (WT) will ignore your wishes!
Conclusion of the matter: Think twice before sending donations for relief efforts to the WTBTS, because there is a high likelihood it will never reach the ones who really need it.

If they truly were God's channel today, you would think that WT would rely more on Holy Spirit than anything monetary, material or otherwise!

I guess Jesus’ words at Mat 8:20 mean nothing to WTBTS: ‘The Son of man has nowhere to lay down his head.’
Jesus didn’t appear to rely much on money and material things when on earth and still he and his early disciples got a great deal accomplished.
Yet, today everything WT does hinges on: 1) Checks; 2) Cash; 3) Jewelry; 4) Debit and Credits Cards; 5) Real Estate; 6) Personal Property; 7) Wills and Trusts; 8) Stocks and Bonds; 9) Life Insurance Policies; 10) Gift Annuities; 11) Bank Accounts; 12) Etc, Etc, Etc!
For good reason Jesus puts the question to us: ‘Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave ……?’ (Mat 24:45)

This is how a CHURCH Truthfully deals with a scandal - read this from 2011 USA TODAY
by dreamgolfer inamazing story of courage, and strong commitment by this true leader at his church in va.. while some dont acknowledge the need for a place of worship, this story relates how the truth should be told, no matter what the cost,.
i personally take my hat off to this guy - he has guts.. read it when you have time (the post about the hammond in scenario made me think of this to share).

A couple of excerpts from this article demonstrates how WTBTS (when placed in a similar situation) has likewise put concerns of their almighty $$ ahead of concerns of pleasing their Almighty God when it comes to cases of child molestation:
‘Church officials often face a wrenching dilemma: If they do what they feel is right in the eyes of God, they can put their church at risk of financial claims that could end its existence.’
‘There's no telling how often that sort of impasse occurs. Discussions between churches and their insurers (or lawyers) on how to handle abuse cases are typically kept confidential, as are any resulting settlements’

OH! On a positive note: WT is having their pants sued off of them over child molestation cases!

It’s become less and less of a ‘Spiritual Paradise’ in the last seven years. More and more youth wanting less and less of the ‘Truth’. Divorce, separation and unhappy family life on the rise. Boorish congregation meetings as well as bland programs and talks at CAs and DCs. High percentage of JWs still medicated in order to cope. Very negative atmosphere overall.
Otherwise just another day in Paradise in JW World!

The Myths of Disfellowshipping
by Londo111 injj allowed me to send him an article for jwstruggle.
i know this might not be everyone's cup of tea on jwn, and i hope this doesn't smack of self-promotion, which i find distasteful, but i hope it might bring comfort to some who have found themselves the victims of judicial committees.

I’ve seen this scenario way too many times at the Kingdom Hall:
‘There was a certain disfellowshipped sister in my old congregation who often left the meeting in tears, time and time again. How could the elders see this woman so obviously repentant and not accept her back immediately?’
The following statement is food for thought:
‘Can elders be mistaken in a judicial capacity? As one sister, who had awakened to the truth about the ‘truth’ said: “If these men were guided by Holy Spirit, they would have known how I felt about the Society, and they would never have reinstated me. If they weren’t guided [by God’s Holy Spirit] in reinstating me, how could they have been guided by Holy Spirit in disfellowshipping me?”’

Ugly!
I can't help but to think of the term 'UGLY' when the word disfellowshipping comes to mind. And frankly the WTBTS organization deserves to be thought of in those same terms for adopting such an appalling practice.
Disfellowshipping has its' place. But WT abuses the practice immensely!

Yah, with WWI raging-on the Anglo-American World Power had nothing better to do than to as par 6 states: ‘oppress God’s people, ban some (not all) of their publications and throw some of WT representatives of the faithful slave class into prison.’ And then they ‘Killed’ the preaching work for a period of time.
WT’s GB in par 6 come across like Drama Queens!
